In 1902, a determined engineer answered one of mankind's most nagging questions:
How do we make hot, sticky, indoor air go away?

In creating the world's first modern air conditioning system,
Willis Carrier forever changed indoor life, and, more than a century later, the corporation that bears his name takes inspiration from his example.

Comfort Master of Sacramento is a Factory Authorized dealer for Carrier Heating and Cooling products.

Air Conditioners

Air conditioners may look similar, but their Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) can vary widely. Higher SEER numbers save more money spent on electricity. A 14 SEER air conditioner, the EPA “current minimum standard,” uses around 30 percent less energy than a 10 SEER unit (EPA standard up until Jan. 2006). Even though 14 SEER is the minimum efficiency available, we currently offer a line of air conditioners that start at 14 SEER and go all the way up to a 21 SEER. Depending on your average usage, higher SEER air conditioners can significantly reduce your electric bill.
Additionally, we offer many air conditioners that have advanced features, such as 2-stage compressors and variable-speed fan operation. These features not only improve the comfort level of your home but can provide additional energy.  Infinity Series air conditioners are designed for quiet operation exceptionally quiet operation.
Comfort Master of Sacramento will recommend a system that is best suited to meet your home comfort needs.  Our free estimates usually offer several options in efficiency, design and pricing.

Gas Furnaces

Today’s new high-efficiency furnaces can save up to 50 percent in operating costs over a ten-year-old furnace. Many 1990 and earlier model furnaces have Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) ratings of 65 percent or less. The minimum AFUE-rated furnace that can be sold in the United States today is 80 percent. Our current product offering starts at 80 percent AFUE and goes all the way to a very efficient 98.5 percent AFUE rating. Depending on your average usage, higher AFUE-rated furnaces can significantly reduce your gas bill. We offer many furnaces with variable and multi-speed features that can provide enhanced indoor comfort by slowly ramping up to your thermostat setting rather than simply turning on at full speed. This alleviates the "cold air blow" often associated with single-speed furnaces and dramatically reduces system noise.  Carrier manufactures gas furnaces that are among the quietest in the industry.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are a great solution for your all electric home comfort because they work to provide both heating and cooling. Heat pumps have SEER ratings like air conditioners and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) ratings for measuring heating efficiency. Higher SEER and HSPF ratings mean greater energy savings. Heat pumps are a very efficient alternative to electric heat. A heat pump works the same as an air conditioner in the summer, but it runs in reverse in the winter to heat your home. The system will be matched with a backup heating source, most often electric heat for those extremely cold days of winter. Just like our air conditioners, many of our heat pumps have advanced features, such as 2stage compressors and variable-speed fan operation. These features not only improve the comfort level of your home but can provide additional energy.
Among the products we offer, the Carrier Infinity 20 heat pump with Greenspeed Intelligence is among the most energy efficient products of its type with up to an unprecedented 13.0 HSPF heating efficiency and up to 20.5 SEER cooling efficiency.

Packaged Gas/Electric and Heat Pump Units

50VG-A, 48VG-A
Some homes just don’t have space inside for a furnace or the coil needed for cooling. That doesn’t mean they can’t be filled with the same comfort and improved air quality of a split system home.
Packaged units tend to all look alike but can do vastly different things:
  • Cool only as an air conditioner
  • Cool and heat as an electric heat pump
  • Cool and heat as a Hybrid Heat® dual fuel system of gas furnace with electric heat pump
  • Cool and heat as a gas furnace with electric air conditioner
As an all-in-one unit, the only other thing you need is a control or thermostat and, of course, ductwork to carry the conditioned air. Additionally you can add air quality accessories if you like. Packaged systems may be located on the exterior of your home, either on a flat rooftop or in the yard.
Our package products come in a range of shapes and sizes with efficiencies to 16 SEER, 12.5 EER,12.5 HSPF and sound ratings as low as 72 dBa.

Ductless Split Systems

As you may have guessed from its name, a ductless split system doesn’t rely on air ducts to spread treated air in your home. Instead, this specialty system is designed to heat or cool room additions or other places that may lack ductwork, such as home theatres, exercise rooms, garages or any other area where the existing system doesn’t quite cut it. Ductless split systems include:

  • Small outdoor air conditioner or heat pump unit
  • A compact indoor wall unit
  • Refrigerant tubing and wire connections―pass through a small hole from indoor to outdoor unit to connect the system.
  • On unit or remote control―your interface for controlling your system
The new Infinity Series is Carrier’s most advanced ductless system, offering consumers superior heating and cooling technology in a variety of models and styles. It features a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) 30.5 rating and is capable of cooling in outdoor temperatures up to 130 degrees and heating at minus 22 degrees. It also comes in white and gray finish options and has Wi-Fi controls.
In addition to the new ductless Infinity Series, Carrier also has upgraded its existing Performance™, Comfort™ and Toshiba Carrier series single- and multi-zone ductless systems for residential and light commercial uses. The Performance Series was expanded to include cassette, ducted and console units.

Indoor Air Quality

Removing dust, allergens and odors can do wonders for your health and the quality of your life. A high-efficiency air cleaner attached to your heating and cooling system can silently and effectively rid indoor airborne irritants down to 0.01 microns. You can't buy an easier to control or better air cleaner than Aprilaire – in fact, it's been rated #1 three years in a row in independent tests! Clearly the best choice for the cleanest air possible for allergy and asthma sufferers. Central air cleaning at the touch of
a button.
We also recommend Carrier, Aprilaire air cleaning and humidification products as well as PHI and RCI technologies.

PHI (photohydronization) and RCI (Radiant Catalytic Ionization) technologies are licensed to many Fortune 500 companies for use in the medical, food, military, residential, commercial, marine, hospitality and government fields. Available in a 9” cell or 11” cell for installation in your home heating duct system, it has tested as 99 percent plus effective against such viruses such as H1N1 (swine flu), avian influenza (bird flu), (MRSA), E. coli, staph, strep, mold and yeast as well as reducing orders and chemical compounds. For a copy of the Kansas State University study on the effects of RCI technology, email us at
